Except for the approx. 2 months we stayed downstairs with the real fire, this is the daily morning and evening scene at our home. I think my husband got a little tired of keeping the other fire going all the time. So for now, he just turns this one on, puts up his feet and has his morning coffee. And I am in the opposite chair with my own coffee:)

Under the Tree
Just a random photo of a pine cone under our tree. The good thing is that the sun is shining and there is no snow in this image:)

Signs of Spring
I went out in my yard this afternoon looking for possible signs of spring and found two!!!! Those daffodils are coming up even in the snow. And if you look close you will see a bud on my trellis. YAY! And it got up to 51 here today!

Madeline and Oliver
I got to take a few photos of the children today. However, Madeline requires some bribing with candy before she will pose and even then it is very brief!
Oliver on the other hand is just happy to smile for Pawpaw and me.

Consignment Treasures
My friend, Mary, told me about a HUGE consignment type store in our area. I visited it today and these are some of the things I thought were nice. I did not however, buy any of the pictured items.

Ttv A New Discovery
The image below was taken using a technique called Ttv or through the viewfinder. The idea is to take a photo with your usual digital camera looking through the lens of an older vintage camera. I have been seeing some of these around and wanted to give it a try
I knew we had some old cameras but they had been packed away and I couldn't find them. I found them yesterday and here is a photo of what was in the box. I used the camera in the upper left for my Ttv. It is a Kodak Duaflex.

Reflection of Days Gone By
This is for the group Parallel Vision. This weeks word is reflection. The photo in the mirror is my high school senior picture from 1975! I haven't seen this reflection for over 35 years! And one other bit of trivia, I used to sew a lot of my own clothes and did make the outfit I have on in the mirror.

A Little Bit of Sunshine
I needed a break from all the snow pictures, so I headed back to some bright sunshine yellow flowers.

More Snow in Daleville
This is our back yard. I leaned out a window to try to get a higher perspective in this shot. This is not a black and white. There is just a LOT of snow!
Just a little acorn head hanging on our oak.
I had no grandchildren nearby to play outside with so I just made my snowman all by myself. I liked him except his eyes are kind of scary. I could only find some prunes to use:)

Fences
Fence surrounding the Fincastle courthouse.
I found this fence surrounding an old house near Fincastle. As I was jumping out of the van to get this, I noticed a man in the window putting his tie on. He was very close. I was afraid I was trespassing, so I waited a minute until he stepped away from the window. Then I ran, shot a couple of times, and ran back to the car:).

Fun with Barns
Steve and I went driving a few days ago (before the snow) to search out a few farms. Here are some that we found.
I went a little overboard with textures on this one but it was fun to play with it.
