More Handsome Baby "L"

I'm so happy to share more images from this sweet little newborn's session.  He was such a sweet heart.  And it was great to see his family along with his big brother again:)  This little guy reminded me once again why I love what I do.

Baby Boy "L" Sneak Peek

We had a great time with this sweet little 1 week old baby boy.  He was such a joy to photograph and is so incredibly handsome!  He looks so much like his big brother it almost felt like a repeat session.

Newborn Baby "O"

I'm so excited to share with you some images from this beautiful baby girl's session.  She is so perfect!  We had a great time with her and her sweet parents.  You may remember them from here.  Little baby "O" fooled us a bit.  She arrived nice and sleepy but showed us she has great hearing.  She startled with every shutter release :)  And she doesn't really like hats!  Enjoy her gorgeous portraits.

Beyond Layers - Week 5

This weeks challenge was to create an image using some heavy textures to give it a painterly effect.  Since we had snow today, I used one of my snow images.  I usually don't do heavy, dark textures, but I had fun following Kim's tutorial for this image.

Beyond Layers - Week 4

I'm continuing on with my creative 52 week course.  This week, Kim encouraged us to set up our own little mini studio using natural light. Then we were to put some thought into setting up our still life image.  She gave us several techniques to give a try.  This is where I need creative help, friends.  I really am challenged when it comes to putting together a still life setting.  I gave it two tries here.  The first is somewhat creative.  The second is totally not!  So here we go.
Let's sew! - These patterns are my mothers.  She sewed most of our clothes when we were growing up.  I have a LOT of her old patterns. I think they are really cool!  And for any of you that sew now, notice how inexpensive they were in the 50's!
For this image I set up in a sunny room with the light diffused onto a white background.  In photoshop I used a vintage action, Kim's vintage gradient and her revolution texture.

And this next image is totally unoriginal.  But it is a cool vintage camera!  I set this up in front of a window with direct light coming in behind the camera.  I used a white diffuser to filter the harsh light.  I then set up a white foam board to the front and side to give a bit of light on the front.  Then in photoshop, I adjusted the levels and added Kims plastered squared texture.

Beautiful Baby "O"

This little one week old beauty spent the afternoon with me today.  She stole my heart right away.  She wasn't extremely sleepy today so she made us work for her portraits!  But it was totally worth it :)  I could hardly choose just one for her sneak peak!

One Week Old Baby "M"

We had a great time with this handsome little newborn boy.  He was so good for his whole session.  I always feel bad about getting a baby all comfy for a shot and then moving them to the next shot right away.  But this guy just didn't seem to mind:)  He even let us prop him up on the airplane after he got a full belly!
